During the winter months, our skin can appear dull and dry.
In this Wrinkle Free Wednesday, we explore a new way to give your face a boost without using harsh chemicals.
We head to Wistera Aveda Salon and Spa for skin resurfacing.
It's nature's answer to help winterize your skin.
Using an all natural Aveda skin care line infused with crushed up bamboo, Esthetician Jade Daughtry shows off a new procedure called Botanical Skin Resurfacing.
After cleansing the skin, a Radiant Skin Refiner Mask is applied.
Daughtry says the mask has the energizing mineral, tourmaline in it, to help remove dead skin cells and reduce the signs of aging.
"You’re exfoliating the face with a deep exfoliation so it is helping to even out fine lines and crows feet and even skin tone and texture,” Daughtry says.
The treatment is also a great way to repair sun-damaged skin during the cold winter months.
“ This time of year is really good because the skin gets dryer and tends to flake more."
This procedure is mildly abrasive.
And, Daughtry says its a great alternative for those who have sensitive skin.
"Skin Resurfacing is so good because you don't get the harmful side effects of micro-derm abrasion. There is no redness and there is no irritation."
After 10 minutes, it's time to replenish the skin with moisture.
So, Daughtry mixes tourmaline charged Intensive Hydrating Creme and a Radiance Mask to make a new mixture, that is applied to the face.
Using slow and steady brush strokes, the face and neck are painted.
Daughtry says this mask will help minimize her client's pore size, leaving Rebecca's skin, with a more smooth and even texture.
“It feels so good,” Rebecca says.
Warm towels reveal a new radiant look to the skin.
